Today’s Sunday Squad theme was Sowing the Seeds of Faith. Duncan told the children the story of Johnny Appleseed, an American missionary who travelled the farm-lands of America, telling stories, teaching the gospel and planting apple trees with the seeds he collected from cider mills. His dream was for a land where no-one would go hungry.
This story reminds us of the parable that God's love is like an orchard, and that we should sow our own seeds of Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy.The children brought this message to life by creating a fantastic poster with a variety of seeds - pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, you name it! The pomegranate seeds were particularly tasty. Yum..!
